ENGEL categorises its inject 4.0 program in three operational areas: smart machine, smart service and smart production. The goal is a smart factory in which production processes continuously self-optimise through the networking of production systems, the systematic use of machine, process and production data, and the deployment of decentralised, intelligent assistance systems. During IPF 2017, with the production of inject 4.0 logos on an ENGEL e-motion 80 TL injection moulding machine, ENGEL will tangibly demonstrate the potential of smart machine. While iQ weight control maintains consistent injected melt volume throughout the entire injection moulding process, iQ clamp control monitors the mould breathing to calculate and automatically adjust the optimal clamping force. With the e-motion 80 TL and the integrated e-pic robot, the design of the production cell also fulfils the highest demands on efficiency and precision.
